Accessibility Policy
Huddersfield Pregnancy Crisis Centre is primarily a counselling centre and its main focus is to give support and counselling to those facing a crisis pregnancy. We also work with those who find themselves struggling emotionally following termination of pregnancy, baby loss or miscarriage.
Our service is free; it offers confidentiality to all clients and is non-discriminatory.
Our policy is to give non-judgemental counselling clearly enabling our clients to fully understand all the options for their pregnancy. The aim of the counselling is always to allow clients to make their own informed choice in relation to their pregnancy.
Clients may self refer or are referred by other professionals and agencies.
Referral forms may be downloaded from our website and forwarded to the centre.
Clients may attend a Drop-in session 12 - 2pm Mondays, Tuesday and Fridays - not Bank Holidays.
Appointments can also be made at other times and clients can request the gender of their counsellor as and when individual counsellors are available.
Telephone counselling can occasionally be given if the situation merits it.
By arrangement clients can also be seen at other venues, e.g. School, college, university, etc.
We are able to counsel young people under the age of 16. All staff have CRB checks and are aware of safeguarding issues.
Clients can also attend with their partners and we are able to offer counselling individually and then facilitate joint discussions.
Should clients wish to continue in counselling then appointments can be made by phone, text or email.
